The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) is hosting an open-space event which promises to be a fun filled day packed with activities, including performances from the world-renowned Royal Marines Band, and the opportunity to meet some WWII veterans.

The event at Television Centre and White City Place will be on 2 August, between 09:30 and 17:30.

The programme of the day is as follows:

• Performances from the world-renowned Royal Marines Band.

• Sit inside a Royal Navy Life Raft and learn how the RNRMC has converted these into bags through their upcycling project.

• Get to know Naval Officers undertaking epic fundraising challenges for charity.

• Meet WWII veterans and find out how the Taxi Charity supports them.

• Find out about the work the RNRMC do to support sailors, marines, veterans, and their families.

Alicia Burnett, Corporate Partnerships and Events Manager at RNRMC, said,

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to host a family fun day to raise vital funds and share the work of the charity. We have a vision of a world in which our sailors, marines and their families are valued and supported for life. Events like this help to make that vision a reality. Please do come and say hello and find out more!”

Ian Parsons, Chairman, Taxi Charity for Military Veterans, said, “We were thrilled to be asked to join our friends at the RNRMC for this open space event at Television Centre and White City Place in London. Two of our volunteer Cab Drivers will be bringing some naval WWII veterans, including former Wren Marie Scott, who as a 17-year-old transmitted and received messages to and from the beaches on D Day in 1944.”
