Removal of Euston Road Westbound cycle lane announcement.
Good afternoon,
In July 2020 Transport for London (TfL) made temporary changes to Euston Road as part of our Streetspace for London programme.
On Euston Road we provided:
Segregated cycle lanes westbound between Judd Street and Gower Street and eastbound between North Gower Street and Midland Road, supported by new bus stop bypasses
Banned traffic from turning off Euston Road and into:
Ossulston Street
Chalton Street
Duke’s Road
Upper Woburn Place
Further to my email of 12/10/20 and after investigating a number of options, TfL will now modify the scheme by:
Removing the westbound cycle lane, floating bus stops and banned left turn into Upper Woburn Place; while retaining the banned left turn into Duke’s Road and the banned right turn into Chalton Street
We will retain the eastbound cycle lane and the banned turns we introduced
The Route 91 bus will return to its original route, using Upper Woburn Place
TfL will continue to monitor the eastbound lane and also work with Camden Council to introduce better signage and directions to nearby available alternative westbound cycle routes.
Works to modify the project will be carried out over six nights starting on 29 November 2020 at 8pm, requiring temporary restrictions:
29 and 30 November, 8pm to 5am – lane closures along the westbound carriageway
1, 2, 3 and 4 December, 8pm to 5am – full westbound closure of Euston Road between Judd Street and Gower Street
We are asking drivers to follow signed diversions during works for local access.
For through traffic, we are asking drivers to plan ahead and use alternative routes.
Should you wish to provide any feedback on this change, please email StreetspaceLondon@tfl.gov.uk
Kind regards
Dan
