LTDA Co-Op Members Accuse LTDA COM Of Serious Issues Around Finances And Potential Fraud

A new group have appeared this week and have made statements that affects every member of the LTDA.

The LTDA Co-Op Captured, are a group of taxi drivers who are members of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association, the biggest single taxi driver association in the UK with over 10,000 members.

The LTDA is registered with the FCA as a Co-operative society which should be controlled by the members to constitute a bona-fide Co-op, but we believe the society has been captured by Council of Management (COM).

The group believe that the Council of Management have entrenched their position by changing the Association’s rules without proper process leaving them unaccountable to the members.

By satisfying the required number of signatories to call for the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to call a special meeting (Sec 106), their proposal is to remove the current COM and replace them with an interim COM who would be carefully selected acting on professional advice.

This would be to restructure the LTDA and ensure that the Association could never be captured again as it has been.

All voting mechanisms being proposed by the group, are within the current framework of the Association rules.

Through their website, they we will provide details to support our claims with full documentation showing what they argue is the capture of the LTDA including rules changes that entrench the COM's position, serious issues around the finances of the Association, potential fraud and a refusal by the current COM to answer questions about LTDA Enterprises, pensions, wages and the sale of Taxi House, their largest asset.

They are encouraging all members of the LTDA to join us by subscribing to their website and to join with them, in calling on the FCA to assist the membership in handing back the LTDA to its members.

In their website presentation, you can read a statement from their lawyers ‘Anthony Collins’...a leading co-operative specialist.
