George Clark, architect, Builder, teacher, TV presenter and creator director of Amazing productions has tweeted about the daily chaos on Tottenham Court Road.
"I wonder when the powers at be will reverse their ridiculous decision to make Tottenham Court Road 2-way.
"It’s now rammed everyday with horrendous congestion and even higher levels of pollution.
"Just so the odd bus can go the other way once in a while! "
Well, we can answer that George, the dictatorship that is Camden Council, are overriding the results of consecutive consultations and are pressing ahead regardless with these lunatic schemes, financed by grants from TfL and Mayor Khan.
Plus it’s all set to get so much worse. Camden are currently planning a scheme to exclude all traffic from the borough, three months of the year which will greatly impact the congestion and air quality of the surrounding areas.
TAXI LEAKS EXTRA BIT:
The counter flow buses have been responsible for horrendous life changing injuries to pedestrians who have been knocked down by speeding buses.
And let’s not forget, we will soon be seeing the same carnage happening in Gower Street when these loonies at Camden Council proceed to make that two way.
We have asked to see the risk assessment prediction for bus/pedestrian injuries when it goes two way for buses only later next year, and what was the risk assessment was for this temporary period!!!
Unfortunately, Camden TfL and the Mayors office have failed to reply. From this, we would assume that risk assessments were not carried out.
